Ludington Office

Matt Johnson has been a life-long resident of Mason County.  After graduating from Ludington High School in 1998, Matt graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors Degree in accounting and finance. Matt has been employed with Smith & Eddy Insurance since 2004. 
His primary focus is personal insurance, including home and automobile insurance. Matt and his wife Kim reside in Victory Township. Away from work, Matt enjoys spending time outdoors, biking, kayaking, hiking, and snowshoeing.

Ann Belisle was born & raised in Mason County.  After graduation she moved away, got married and had two children, Zane, 15 and Ashlynn, 13.
After returning to the Mason County area, Ann joined the team at Smith & Eddy as a Customer Service Rep.  Her duties at the Ludington office are to answer phones, work face to face with customers that come in the office, handling their billing, claims and helping them with questions they may have about their policies.
“When I am not at work I enjoy spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and being with my family and my 1 year old yellow lab, Cutter.”

Don has been in the insurance business 38 years, with Smith & Eddy Insurance agency approximately seventeen of those years. He specializes in Business/Commercial Insurance but he handles all lines of insurance. “My real expertise is being responsive to my customers, finding ways to solve their insurance problems and getting answers to their questions or concerns.”
“My favorite way of meeting with customers, or potential customers, is by making house calls. Hopefully I can solve a problem for them, whether it be finding a source of insurance, adequate insurance for less cost, more thorough coverage, uncovering a problem, or backing away if there are no problems to solve. My goal is to leave them feeling good about where they are with insurance coverage, be it making a change or remaining as they are.”

Scott has been with Smith and Eddy insurance since 1995.  His primary focus is personal lines of insurance.  However, he is very active in small commercial accounts.  Along, with selling insurance Scott is also responsible for the day to day operations of the Ludington office.  “Auto, home, recreational vehicles,  cycles, watercraft, including charter boats is what our mix of companies allows me to be very competitive in, on a daily basis.  I’ve been very lucky enough to live and work in the same town my entire life.  I’m very active in the community. My wife and 2 young boys certainly keep me on the go.  If I’m not at work you’ll most likely will find me hunting, fishing, attending a Ludington Area Schools event, or just enjoying the Ludington area.”

Nancy Knizacky joined Smith & Eddy Insurance in 2002 as a Commercial Lines Marketer. She has the CISR & CIC designations through the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents. She is a licensed agent working for Smith & Eddy to put the right business insurance program together for each individual client.

Kelly R. Smith has been a licensed insurance agent since January 2009.  She had been a Customer Service Representative for a few years before that.  Kelly has been with Smith & Eddy Insurance since birth, due to the fact that Robert A. Smith is her father.  She started right at the bottom, cleaning the offices in her earlier years, and has worked and studied her way up to Agent.  Kelly is a 2001 graduate from MCC High School.  She attended Central Michigan University right after high school then returned to West Shore Community College where she received her Associates degree.  She is currently attending Ferris State University for her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Pam Bannon was born in Ludington, attended Ludington schools and took college classes at West Shore Community College. You could say her roots run deep. Pam was licensed in 2005 and came to Smith & Eddy when the AAA office in Ludington closed in 2008. She’s been working in the insurance industry since high school.
